Planned neighborhoods, such as Parque Una in São José dos Campos, are examples of an urban design approach that prioritizes compact and walkable communities. They promote a balanced mix of residential, commercial, and recreational uses, integrating essential elements such as diversity of typologies, mixed use, active façades, and the activation of public spaces. In the case of Parque Una, there is also a proposal for sustainability and close coexistence with nature. Its balanced distribution of occupation and densification is closely linked to collective spaces, both in scale and identity. The central park, oriented towards the buildings, becomes the pulsing heart of the neighborhood, playing a strategic role in its identity.
EXP was invited to develop the landscape project for the central park and structure the other communal spaces, such as the linear park, squares, and urban roads, establishing a fundamental foundation for the urban quality of life expected from the neighborhood. The company carried out the reforestation project of public areas associating sustainable use and regeneration of the urban fabric in harmony with human presence.

Landscape design was conceived systematically, ensuring an aesthetic, conceptual, and compositional uniqueness in the network of collective spaces. The understanding that the surroundings shape the quality of urban life for those inhabiting the lot ensured that each area of interaction and permanence possessed a particular identity in relation to the whole. The potential of these areas is explored to reflect the identity of the neighborhood, resulting in a complete and sensitive system, bringing nature just a few steps away.
Tools were also employed in the landscape design to ensure that each element of the collective sphere contributed to a broad experience. The architectural design of the exteriors, furniture, vegetation, lighting, and equipment is cohesive, ensuring that the identity manifests in the small details and everyday perceptions. It is as we approach the city that we create true connections.

Additionally, the streetscape project was essential to reinforce the intentions of the masterplan, creating opportunities for lively, gentle, comfortable, and safe streets. This project also plays a crucial role in promoting active mobility and consolidating a friendly transition between public and private environments. Each street is designed with a specific purpose, considering its role in the urban fabric, whether in terms of flow, integration, adjacent facilities, uses, conceptualization, or natural landscape.
Thus, the landscape project strengthens collective spaces, transforming them into true meeting points and improving civic life, where coexistence and social interaction become the protagonists in building a vibrant and connected community.
